Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

I have two things to share with you today.

Later this afternoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun will meet with Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Khaldoon Khalifa Al-Mubarak who is on a visit to Korea.

The outcome of the meeting will be available to you later in a press release.

Moving on, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun will attend and deliver a keynote speech at the 16th Seoul-Tokyo Forum to be held in Seoul on Saturday, January 17.

The Seoul-Tokyo Forum is co-hosted by the Seoul Forum for International Affairs and the Nakasone Peace Institute of Japan for experts of Korea and Japan to discuss ways to bolster the relationship and cooperation between the two countries.

In his keynote speech, Foreign Minister Cho will share with the other participants the main results of President Lee Jae Myung’s recent visit to Japan as well as the Korean government’s efforts and vision for the future-oriented development of Korea-Japan relations.
